Typically I only lend to women (yay underdogs!) and filter by close to funded. Once you start trying to filter by any type of profession you end up with an empty page with no error message. I think that when you add other filters you should only show professions that have students associated with them (and ideally student counts next to the professions with >0 students.
For example, if there are students matching the current closing+female filters, we should show something like "Computer Programming (3)" and hide any professions with (0) results.
I'm loving your site! 243 donations and going strong!
I think my only other suggestion/idea was the ability to filter by income change. Something about this site makes me just feel better about supporting students who are either unemployed and going to college for the first time, or else funding somebody with a 3x+ income change due to education.

Actually, the site is broken.
If you have NO filters, it tells m that there are 4 students for "Information Technology": http://www.vittana.org/students?profe...
If I click on the link, I get an empty page. It doesn't happen with other categories, even other ones with spaces in the name. -

Hi Peter--
Thanks for letting us know! I've brought it up with the web team, and we'll be looking into it asap.
I've been having a hard time reproducing exactly what you're describing, but I'll play around with it a little more and make sure we get this sorted out as soon as we can.
Thanks so much for writing in, and I hope you've had a great start to the week!
Best,
Sophie -
